The Game Awards today released the nominations for the 2025 ceremony with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominating the field.
Geoff Keighley's annual show celebrating the best games of the year will air in a few weeks on December 11. As usual, Geoff Keighley will host the event, which also includes new game trailers, announcements, performances, and a lot of sponsored content. Before that can happen, though, an awards show needs nominees, and that's what today is all about. The Game Awards today revealed the nominees for every category, and, to very little surprise, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leads the pack with a record-breaking 12 nominations.
Not so Obscur Results
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 managed to snag a record-breaking 12 nominations, including Game of the Year. That makes the celebrated RPG the most-nominated game in The Game Awards' history, though it's impossible for the game to walk away with 12 wins. This is due to the fact that three of the twelve nominations are in a single category, Best Performance. Of course, Clair Obscur isn't the only game to score multiple nominations.
