Pokemon Wind And Wave Has "A More Seamless Version" Of Legends: Arceus' Combat, Says Leaker

When the Pokemon Gen 10 leaks hit, and it sounded like the next game's in the blockbuster franchise might tilt rather heavily toward an action-based combat system, I was a bit skeptical, and also kind of bummed. While some are into that, it's not something that I want from the generational Pokemon games (it's cool elsewhere, like in this year's Pokemon Legends: Z-A).

There was ample room for interpretation in that part of the leak, however, and if a prominent leaker's own info proves accurate, Pokemon Wind and Wave — or Wind and Waves, or whatever the final title is when Game Freak at last unveils it — is going to be more like Pokemon Legends: Arceus. But with some Z-A beats. And, importantly, it will still be primarily a turn-based affair. Neat.

According to BallGuy (look, I didn't choose their name), Legends: Arceus is a good comparison for Gen 10's battle system. "The greatest example I can provide for this," they wrote on Twitter, "is a more seamless version of PLA's combat." This will include some solid staples: "Automatically occuring battles, free roam movement, with a plethora of additions from Z-A such as AOE effects for moves."...
