The first volume of the Pokémon Sword and Shield manga will be translated to English this summer.
It has been announced that the manga based off of Pokémon Sword and Shield will be released in English this summer (via Siliconera). The first volume of the manga will be released in English on August 10th. The volume will cost $4.99, and can be pre-ordered on Amazon right now. This series will be a continuation of the Hidenori Kusaka and Satoshi Yamamoto Pokémon Adventures series outside of Japan.
The Pokémon Sword and Shield manga follows both a male and female protagonist. In the English adaptation of the manga, the boy will be named Henry, while the girl will be named Casey. Henry and Casey are research assistants for Professor Magnolia, and dream of competing in the Galar League. In the first volume of the manga, the two characters will try to get Leon's approval in order to start taking on gyms. Zacian and Zamazenta will play some role in the series, as Henry is trying to learn more about the rusted Sword and Shield connected to the two.
The latest game in the Pokémon franchise is New Pokémon Snap, which released last week. The game holds an OpenCritic Strong rating, with a Top Critic average of 81 and a Critics Recommend score of 81%. New Pokémon Snap tasks players with exploring the Lental region as they take pictures of Pokémon in their natural habitats. The game is the sequel to the original Pokémon Snap, which was released on the Nintendo 64 in 1999. Players will discover behaviors and expressions that they have not seen before through the wild Pokémon that they encounter, as they patrol their territory, play, or lurk in out-of-the-way spots.
Pokémon Sword and Shield are available now for the Nintendo Switch. New Pokémon Snap is also available for the Switch.
