So far, the studio's efforts have been consistently successful, even while competing in an increasingly crowded market.
Last night, a YouTube video from HoYoverse revealed Varsapura, a new game focusing on a bureau called SEAL dealing with a spreading problem of "Mindrot." The gameplay demo video encompasses everything from the protagonist's interview at SEAL to some real-world combat experience, which looks fairly different from anything HoYoverse has done to date. A driving sequence in between showcases a large, modern city environment, pulling back a bit from the more fantastical settings of Genshin and Honkai.
The scope of Varsapura's reveal is surprisingly ambitious, giving fans more to chew on than previous reveals of upcoming HoYoverse games have generally offered. The first half of the video indicates a more robust RPG experience than previous HoYoverse works, with conversational options to use tactics like Deception and Persuasion that may generate mixed results.
