Medieval fantasy went dormant for a while after The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt wrapped up, but it has, thankfully, been seeing a grand resurgence over the past few years. First, Kingdom Come: Deliverance reminded everyone of how fascinating the setting can be, and then the likes of Dragon’s Dogma II and Baldur’s Gate 3 made it a premier genre all over again. Fans already got another dose this year with Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and there’s still more on the way.
The latest foray into the medieval fantasy space arrives on Steam’s virtual shelves today. This new title from indie developer Fire & Frost, dubbed “ Of Ash and Steel” offers fans a mix of medieval intrigue and deep combat mechanics.
