Details for the upcoming Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity have been revealed.

We now know what to expect from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's Expansion Pass. On Twitter, Nintendo dropped details for the pass. The Expansion Pass will come in two chunks, with one releasing this summer and the other releasing in the fall. The pass will cost $19.99. Beginning on May 28th, gamers can purchase the pass and receive bonus content for Age of Calamity. Those who purchase early will receive two pieces of gear: the Prototype Ancient Gear and the Prototype Ancient Short Sword.

The first part of Age of Calamity's Expansion Pass will release sometime in June. It will be entitled Pulse of the Ancients. This part of the pass will add a new playable character, as well as new weapon types called Action Styles. There will also be new challenges in the Royal Ancient Lab. Finally, the first wave of the pass will add new challenging enemies.

The second wave of Age of Calamity's Expansion Pass will release in November. This part of the expansion will be called Guardian of Remembrance. Guardian of Remembrance will add character vignettes  and stages. It will also add an expanded roster, as well as new battle skills for existing characters.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a musou style game, and the spiritual successor to the original Hyrule Warriors. The game has proven to be a hit, selling over 3.5 million copies last year alone, making it one of the most successful musou games ever. The game acts as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, taking place 100 years before the RPG. It allows gamers to experience the Calamity, and see how the world came to be by the start of Breath of the Wild

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
