The Witcher 4 Update Is Music To Our Ears

I get excited every time I get to write these words: The Witcher 4 is coming! It's a real game that's being made, and will one day be in my hands. As somebody who has put nearly 500 hours into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, this is a very good thing indeed.

In a recent update from CD Projekt, we learned how things are going with the next installment in The Witcher franchise, and it's sounding pretty damn exciting. Considering The Witcher 3 is probably one of the greatest RPGs of all time, there's a lot riding on the sequel.

According to the latest update from CD Projekt, there are 447 developers currently working on The Witcher 4, and another 135 on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. For comparison, "a little over 200" in-house developers worked on The Witcher 3, according to CD Projekt RED joint CEO Michał Nowakowski.

I should point out that this doesn't necessarily mean The Witcher 4 will be more than twice the size of The Witcher 3 — that's not how it works! But it is a promising signal in regard to the game's scope and ambition.
