The Riftbreaker will be coming to Xbox Game Pass when it releases.

On the Xbox Wire, it was announced that The Riftbreaker will join Game Pass the day that it releases. The game is scheduled to release this fall simultaneously on all platforms, though a specific date has not been given.

For those who wish to try out The Riftbreaker now can download the demo, entitled The Riftbreaker: Prologue. The free demo will allow gamers to experience the events taking place before the story campaign of the main game. Gamers will be able to explore an entirely new world, gather resources, build a base, and defend themselves from thousands of alien creatures. Players can also take the scenic route and do whatever they want. The choice is theirs.

The Riftbreaker is a mix of a base-builder, survival, and action-RPG. Gamers play as Captain Ashley Nowak, a member of the elite Riftbreaker formation. Armed with a powerful mecha-suit, she travels to the distant planet Galatea 37, which she is aiming to prepare for human colonization. Ashley's mecha-suit, which she calls "Mr. Riggs," is capable of withstanding the harshest climates and has the equipment for base construction, resource extraction, gathering specimens, and combat. Players are tasked with constructing a two-way rift back to Earth, which is a very complex invention and requires enormous amounts of energy. It will require gamers to build a complex chain of mines, refineries, powerplants, and research facilities.

The Riftbreaker features interactive streaming, granting those who are watching someone stream the title the ability to affect their game. The stream's audience will have a number of ways to participate in the game, including voting to send waves of enemies, spawn environmental disasters, or donating resources.

The Riftbreaker will release this fall for PC via both Steam and Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
