Ubisoft has confirmed that there's no second major expansion currently planned for Assassin's Creed Shadows, breaking a tradition that began with 2017's Assassin's Creed Origins.
In an interview with YouTuber JorRaptor (thanks, IGN), associate director Simon Lemay-Comtois revealed that there is "no expansion on the size of [Claws of Awaji] that is planned" for Shadows' second major year of post-launch content.
Lemay-Comtois acknowledged that Ubisoft might change its plans in the manner of the recent Valley of Memory update for Assassin's Creed Mirage, but it looks like at the moment, you shouldn't expect a second expansion on the same scale as Claws of Awaji.
According to Lemay-Comtois, Ubisoft is still working on post-launch updates for Assassin's Creed Shadows, but unlike Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, there won't be "a full-on DLC the way a season pass would have had in the previous years".
He goes on to say that Ubisoft is "trying to re-adjust for Year Two a little bit", and that the goal is to "drop and have people come back and enjoy it" rather than to be "quick and reactive" as the studio was during the first year of the game's release....
