A leak has revealed that a brand-new Dead Rising game is on the way, and could be taking a trip to Hollywood with the series' first protagonist, Frank West. If true, it would be the first new mainline Dead Rising game since 2016's Dead Rising 4, which was met with middling reviews and poor sales.
Although a remaster of the original Dead Rising was released last year, the series has largely been on hiatus for almost a decade now. Despite this, rumors of a Dead Rising reboot first surfaced in 2023, but little came of them until now. Many assumed that Dead Rising was dead and buried, but Capcom as a publisher has never been afraid to revisit popular franchises and bring them back to life after long breaks. The 12-year gap between Dragon's Dogma and its 2024 sequel is just one recent example of this, and considering how successful Dead Rising once was, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Capcom give it another shot.
Whether craving horror or something sillier, you should not have any trouble finding an exciting new zombie game.
