Free PlayStation Plus Access Announced, But You'll Have To Be Fast

Here's a fun little festive treat for all the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 gamers out there: PlayStation Plus will officially be free for all this weekend, giving you a chance to enjoy some of the perks of the subscription service without having to pay.

It's probably worth noting that free-to-play games like Fortnite or Where Winds Meet don't need PlayStation Plus, but if you want to access online multiplayer for games like Battlefield 6, you have to pay up. Usually, at least. Not this weekend1

This free PlayStation Plus weekend kicks off around midnight local time on Saturday, December 6, and runs until about one minute before midnight on Monday, December 8. Personally, I think it's a little stingy to not include Friday in this free weekend, but maybe I'm just being greedy.

Even without Friday included, you've got a full 48 hours to get stuck into games like ARC Raiders or Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 online without having to pay. Although, quite why you would have purchased either of those games without also intending to pay to play online is beyond me.
