The Survival Horror genre has continued to flourish more and more with each passing year from major franchises like Silent Hill that saw the release of Silent Hill F this year to smaller devs like Bloober Team, the developers behind last year’s very successful Silent Hill 2 Remake, debuting a new game in Cronos: The New Dawn. We’ve even seen a solo dev, Francis Coulombe, bring interesting genre mashups such as the Survival Horror RPG Look Outside. This week sees another indie Survival Horror game release in Routine and its coming day one to Xbox Game Pass as well.
Set in an abandoned lunar base, Routine features survival horror of the Sci-Fi variety where you are tasked with finding out why the base has gone silent. All the while, the search reveals an unknown threat lurking in the shadows. Explore surroundings, investigate events, and use the tool at your disposal to progress forward.
