Square Enix Legend Accidentally Teases The RPG Remake We've Been Begging For

Square Enix has countless IPs waiting for a revival. They're kind of like Capcom, or another decades-old character factory, in that during any given gaming event, they can trot out an old franchise and instantly garner peerless applause.

Based on a new comment from Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii on YouTube, it seems like something big might be in the works: the sort of thing that would steal all the headlines in a classic E3 show.

During a broadcast in Japan, Yuji Horii responded to a question about a potential Chrono Trigger remaster/remake/re-release project with a curious reply, saying that he shouldn't be asked about it, but didn't deny its existence. It's a cheeky comment from a boisterous creator, but at this point, it's hard to just deny, deny, deny when it comes to this widely-rumored revival project.

This sort of thing has happened before, and Square Enix fully denied it then, so there's now more hope as a result of these comments. In any case, it's almost like fans are wearing the company down constantly asking about it, like they're going to eventually will it into existence. Maybe we'll need to wait until the third...
