Skyrim overhaul mod Skyblivion has been 13 years in the making, and the latest update confirms that the wait isn't over yet. As its name would suggest, Skyblivion reconstructs Oblivion within Skyrim's engine, a massive undertaking meant to upgrade the game with better graphics and various improvements. Bethesda's surprise release of Oblivion Remastered ended up beating it to the punch, but the project could still have a lot to offer.
Skyblivion announced a delay to 2026 in a YouTube video, which establishes that "some last challenges" are going to take more time than anticipated. Previously, Skyblivion was set for a 2025 release. The Imperial City remains unfinished, although assets are expected to be completed before the end of the year, and other aspects like quests and navmeshes still require some work.
While its planned 2026 release should provide a big finale to well over a decade of development, Skyblivion is already planning to add some post-launch content. Bug fixes will be the biggest priority, but the following features are also included in a post-launch roadmap:
