Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bad Robot Games today announced a new partnership to produce and publish a new cooperative shooter.
A new co-op shooter from is on the horizon, and it's coming via a brand-new partnership between Sony and an unlikely partner, Bad Robot Games. A division of Bad Robot, the film, TV, and theatre production company founded by JJ Abrams, Bad Robot Games will see its first internally developed game produced and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. While details are under wraps at the moment, the duo did confirm that the game will be a four-player, cooperative shooter directed by Mike Booth, the lead designer on Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.
A Cooperative Partnership
The partnership will see Bad Robot Games develop the game internally with Sony producing and publishing the game. As such, the game will only launch on PS5 and PC. Whether the game will be a zombie-like experience like the Left 4 Dead franchise or Back 4 Blood (Mike Booth founded Turtle Rock Studios before leaving for Bad Robot Games) remains unknown.
