Chaos Manufacturing has announced SOL Shogunate, a single-player character action game billed as a samurai space opera. The upcoming title, which appears loosely reminiscent of Stellar Blade, is in development for PC and consoles.
Chaos Manufacturing is a new studio co-founded and led by Guy Costantini, former Global Brand Director at CD Projekt Red and former SVP of Marketing and Publishing at Skydance Interactive. SOL Shogunate was unveiled as the company’s debut title during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, a December 4 showcase and one of the final gaming events of 2025.

The game's reveal trailer introduces a distinctive setting that blends hard sci-fi with Japanese feudalism. The titular shogunate is depicted as a multiplanetary empire spanning the solar system, including a colonized moon, where a significant portion of SOL Shogunate takes place. Halfway through the trailer, a massive, wheel-shaped space station employing rotational artificial gravity appears.
