A Township Tale Lets Players Carve Out A Medieval Life On Oculus Quest

A Township Tale was one of the many indie games given a bit of the E3 spotlight these last few days, and given that flurry of news, we thought we'd catch you up with the important details surrounding this medieval farm life sim. A Township Tale casts players as the stars of their own medieval story, giving them the tools to tend to learn several professions, explore new lands, and even role-play with friends on private servers.

The game is coming to both Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 next month and celebrated the release date with a new trailer during the UploadVR Showcase.

A Township Tale was previously released as a VR-only game on PC, though the team at Alta clarified that cross-play between Quest and PC VR players will not be available at launch. It sounds like that will be added later, though no specific window was shared just yet.

Here's more from the team:

A Township Tale is a dream-come-true for fans of RPGs and survival games, set in a medieval fantasy world where players band together with up to eight friends on a virtual server to take on professions and craft equipment while they explore the dangerous world before them, all in the immersive way that only VR can provide.

A Township Tale allows players to become master professionals in their new town by taking up the mantle of blacksmiths, woodcutters, miners, archers and warriors. Players can explore dangerous areas and recover crafting materials to improve their gear. With specialized weapons, levelling abilities and play-styles, unique parties are formed to delve into the deepest reaches of dark caverns.

Life sims seem to have a running start on VR, they just make a heck of a lot of sense on that platform, so this could really prosper on Quest where players can enjoy VR without the tethers of any wires or cables. A Township Tale launches on Quest platforms on July $15 for $9.99.
