Resident Evil Requiem Major Character Return Accidentally Revealed By PlayStation, Oops

A PlayStation Store goof has inadvertently confirmed a popular character's appearance in Resident Evil Requiem long before their official announcement. It's hard to believe the next major Resident Evil release is only a couple of months away, currently targeting a February 27 release. Capcom's done a fine job of keeping its plot under wraps, but PlayStation consoles just threw a wrench in the works.

On X (formerly Twitter; spotted by Games Radar), leaker Dusk Golem claims to have happened on an unfortunate oversight: hidden key art for Resident Evil that certainly seems to show recurring protagonist Leon Kennedy, featured prominently alongside Requiem's main character Grace Ashcroft. Although rumors of Leon's appearance in Requiem have been circulating for months, Capcom has yet to officially confirm them.

Per Dusk Golem, the hidden key art appeared when trying to schedule preloading of Resident Evil Requiem. The PlayStation Store screen that appears when doing so shows the game's home screen icon alongside an estimate of when the download will be available.

Iin this case, the icon is an unrevealed piece of key art that shows what looks like an older, grizzled Leon, half-shadowed in the background. This effectively confirms all the leaks and rumors...
