It has been over four years since Animal Crossing: New Horizons saw its last major update alongside the release of its Happy Home Paradise DLC, but now the 3.0 version and Switch 2 upgrade are on the way, and rumor has it exciting news is just around the corner.
Streamer and YouTuber NintenTalk alluded to big Animal Crossing news coming next week, saying, "Animal Crossing fans are going to be VERY HAPPY next week" on social media. A follow-up thread clarifies that Nintendo is "providing NEW footage AND an opportunity for media to ask questions regarding what was shown" during "several digital events" hosted for "select media and content creators" which will provide greater insight into the ACNH 3.0 update and the Nintendo Switch 2 edition. NintenTalk claims media coverage will become public on December 16.
While it remains to be seen if NintenTalk's speculation proves correct, the timing at least makes sense. Next Monday, December 15, will mark exactly one month until ACNH 3.0 and the Switch 2 edition arrive. If Nintendo has indeed started showing off the new Animal Crossing content behind closed doors, a month out would be a good time to start promoting it more...
