It's finally happening: The Boys is getting a video game adaptation. The exceptionally violent television series, based on a comic series of the same name, has enjoyed incredible popularity since it premiered in 2019. With the show's fifth season looming, there's now even more The Boys action to look forward to.
Developer ARVORE revealed The Boys: Trigger Warning with a trailer that shows a shooter and fighting game with an unexpected horror slant, which will be available on PlayStation VR 2 and Meta Quest. The VR-only title will arrive in 2026, and features all the expected characters from The Boys, including Homelander, Billy Butcher, Kimiko, Black Noir, Ashley, and more.
The Boys: Trigger Warning is published by Sony PIctures Virtual Reality, so its PSVR2 release is expected. The Meta Quest release is a bit more surprising, given PlayStation is generally quite cagey with its first-party-published games. This being a product of Sony Pictures is likely the difference; it's not being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which stewards the PlayStation brand.
The VR game appears to play up the danger of living in The Boys universe, where supes are often indiscriminate in using their powers. Horror games...
