Battlefield 6's latest update, the Winter Offensive event and the 1.1.3.0 patch, has been widely slammed by players. I covered the poor rollout in a news article that was titled "It's Broken Everything", and I was a bit worried about journalistic hyperbole. It turns out, however, that the update did literally break everything. Including the game's Steam numbers, which hit their lowest peak since launch following the update December 9th.
I'm an avid Battlefield 6 player and the game has felt off since the update yesterday. Hit registration is weird, the menu is bugged, I have some frustrating audio bugs, my game keeps freezing on the scoreboard...the list goes on. And those are just my issues. There are a lot more out there.
It's currently off-peak in the EU, and player numbers have hit an all-time low of 50,000 players on Steam. The 24-hour peak is at just 107,000. I know that often we obsess over player numbers even though, in the grand scheme of things, they mean very little. Games wane and peak, that is the natural cycle.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's music spells out the ending and some of the game's big twists....
