Skyrim's Umpteenth Port Might Be The Most Broken One Yet

In case you missed it, Skyrim was re-released once more, this time on the Nintendo Switch 2. This version of Bethesda's 2011 RPG was shadowdropped yesterday, an act that's becoming a trend for Bethesda following the success of Oblivion Remastered.

Unfortunately, according to swathes of users on social media, the Switch 2 port of Skyrim is a mess. Players were promised faster load times and improved performance, which is the bare minimum considering the heightened capabilities of the Switch 2. Needless to say, these promises haven't panned out so far.

"Input lag beyond playability. And I mean worse input lag than online Smash Bros. here. There's like a whole second between me flicking the stick and my character moving its head," writes Apprehensive-Age2562. "I won't even speak about the 30 frames-per-second for a 2011 game in 2025 on a console capable of running Cyberpunk at 40 frames-per-second. I'll just say that the frame pacing is not even stable. But the best part is my game crashing after less than ten minutes."

The input lag is an extremely common complaint, and it combines with the unstable frame rate to create an abysmal playing experience....
