There have been a lot of great and unique titles in the gaming year 2025, and hopefully, that’ll carry over into 2026. With the end of the year upon us, now is the time to look back at things and learn more about the games that you might not have paid much mind to at first. One such title is The Hundred Line Last Defense Academy, which was a unique collaboration between Kazutaka Kodaka (who made the famous Danganronpa franchise) and Kotaro Uchikoshi (who had written many a fan-favorite tale, including AI: The Somnium Files).
The game was fascinating on many fronts, including the fact that it had over 100 endings! Yes. Really. There was a lot of love put into this game, and between fans and critics in places like Metacritic and Steam, you can see that the reception has been good. In an interview with Inverse, Uchikoshi made it clear that when he works on a game, he puts his all into it, and there will never be any AI use:
