Warframe's The Old Peace Update Is Bringing In So Many Players That The Servers Can't Handle It

Warframe is still going strong despite being a 12-year-old game. This is not only thanks to Digital Extremes' dedication to adding new content, but also a massive community that constantly keeps the game going. If you had any doubts about it, the game just saw a massive player count spike due to the recent The Old Peace update.

The game recorded a 24-hour peak of 175,546 as the update went live yesterday, the highest it has seen since July 2021. While it's normal for player counts to spike with new updates, warframe doesn't usually see such spikes unless it's around TennoCon, where there are usually freebies up for grabs. The surge has also resulted in a lot of players reporting server issues.

Warframe players who hoped to check out the new update complained about server issues, especially connected to the game's chat feature. It seems Digital Extremes underestimated just how many players would join or return to Warframe for the new update. To add to this, most players in the U.S. still haven't even woken up. Hopefully, the devs are preparing for this.
