This week’s Game Awards featured plenty of exciting game reveals for titles that will make up the next few years of gaming releases. Some, like Highguard, are right around the corner, while others, like Exodus, are a little further away. But the good news is that one title many thought wouldn’t be released until 2030 at the earliest is coming sooner than that.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was one of the biggest titles revealed during The Game Awards 2025. Its existence was a well-kept secret heading into the Geoff Keighley-produced show, and it wasn’t until the title card fully appeared that fans in the audience (and watching online) went nuts. And then, when it was revealed that original Knights of the Old Republic director Casey Hudson is working on the project, enthusiasm shot through the roof.
Of course, that enthusiasm for Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic eventually tempered once fans realized that the game is likely in early development and won’t release until at least a few years from now.
