Every now and then, Rockstar Games reminds us it hasn't forgotten that Red Dead Redemption 2 exists. A recent reference to the critically acclaimed Western was spotted inside the latest update for GTA Online.

While the original Red Dead Redemption was recently re-released for consoles and mobile devices, what the fans really crave is a next-gen update for Red Dead Redemption 2. It's an already gorgeous game — arguably better looking than most games released today — but a 60fps upgrade would go a long way. While this recent discovery probably isn't a hint of anything more to come, it's a fun nod to a classic.

As spotted by Rockstarintel, GTA Online's brand-new A Safehouse In The Hills expansion is hiding at least one reference to Red Dead Redemption 2.

The big new feature of this latest expansion — which brings back GTA 5 protagonist Michael — is the ability to purchase luxury homes and decorate them as you see fit. Among these customization options there are various paintings that can be hung throughout your new mansion, and as is typical of Rockstar's attention to detail, each painting has the name of a fictional artist.
