Details for Genshin Impact's 2.0 update have been dropped.

On the PlayStation Blog, details for Genshin Impact's latest update were released. The game's 2.0 update will release on July 21st. The update will add a new area for players to explore: Inazuma. Inazuma is a place where players will find ephemeral beauty everywhere. The weather in the area changes quickly and drastically, tinting the landscapes with a strong sea breeze, flickering light and shadow, and raging thunderstorms all in the blink of an eye. Inazuma consists of six main islands and a series of islets scattered across the ocean. The 2.0 update will only unlock three of the area's main islands.

Genshin Impact's 2.0 update will add three new companions: Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu. Ayaka is a familiar face to many fans since the game's closed beta testing, and will wield the power of Cryo and a sword. The second character is Yoimiya. She is a five-star Pyro archer. The final character, Sayu, is a four-star ninja who wields an Anemo Vision. Despite her small stature, she wields a claymore larger than herself.

During their trek on Inazuma, players will discover various new puzzle-solving gameplay. Unlike the puzzles of past cities, Inazuma's puzzles do not require players to have a character on their team who can use specific elemental powers in order to solve puzzles. Successfully solving the puzzles will only require a little bit of wisdom in order to make good use of all the clues and items around players. Those who wish to take a break in their journey can revisit their realm in their Serenitea Pot. With the 2.0 update, players will now be able to collect seeds via a special container gadget, and grow different plants in their realm once they have cultivated some fields with the help of Chubby, the teapot spirit.

It was also revealed that Genshin Impact's 2.0 update will allow players to share game progress across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and other available platforms. For PlayStation gamers, a list of new trophies is being added. PlayStation 5 owners can expect a lot more tactile feedback with their DualSense controller when they draw their bow, use their wind glider, rush into the woods, and perform various actions. Character shading has also be enhanced so that the effects of real-time lighting can be shown more clearly on characters.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
