A patch for the Steam version of Nier: Automata is on the way.
It has been announced that the long-awaited patch for the Steam version of Nier: Automata finally has a release date. According to the game's Steam page, the patch is expected to release on July 15th. A lot of changes are being made through the patch. Borderless video settings have been implemented, as well as adjustments to the anti-aliasing functionality. A new "Global Illumination" feature has been implemented, and can be set to three different levels. Approximately 270 UI textures for icons, backdrops, UI elements and more will now support 4K resolutions. The system will also now detect whether or not HDR has been activated in the Windows display settings. The game will automatically be booted in HDR mode if it has. All of the changes being made to the game can be seen on the game's Steam page.
The Nier: Automata patch will also address some of the PC versions bugs. The mouse cursor will no longer be displayed when the game is being played with a controller. The game's framerate has been stabilized at 60 fps under default settings. It will now also be possible to switch between recently selected display modes for screenshots by pushing the Alt + Enter keys together. The patch will also implement a number of stability related fixes.
In other Nier news, Nier Reincarnation will have a Nier Automata event when the game releases globally on July 28th (via Siliconera). This means that players will be able to pull the three main characters of Automata, 2B, 9S and A2, from a special banner when Reincarnation releases, making them playable party members. It is not known how long this special event will go on for.
Nier: Automata is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
