Overwatch's annual Summer Games event has begun.

It has been announced that Overwatch's Summer Games event has started. The event will run through August 10th. During this time, a number of event exclusive cosmetics and game modes will be available. Cosmetics include new skins for Winston, Pharah, and Hanzo. There are also new emotes and intros available. Players will be able to receive new skins, sprays, victory poses, and more from loot boxes. They will also be able to receive items from previous Summer Games events that they may have missed in the past.

During the Summer Games event, players will once again be able to play Lucioball. Lucioball is Overwatch's take on soccer, and has teams trying to land the ball in their opponents goal. There will also be Lucioball Remix. In this faster and more chaotic version of Lucioball, there will be two balls in play at all times. Bonus balls worth extra points will spawn periodically around the arena.

There will also be weekly challenges during the Summer Games. By playing games in Quick Play, Competitive Play, or the arcade, gamers can earn special icons, sprays, and skins. Previous Overwatch events required players to win games, but this Summer Games event will let gamers earn the rewards by just playing games. Every week, they can earn a special icon by playing 9 games, a special spray by playing 18 games, and an epic skin by playing 27 games. Between July 20th and 27th, players can earn an Ocean King Winston icon, spray, and epic skin. Between July 27th and August 3rd, gamers will be able to net a Sunset Pharah icon, spray, and epic skin. Finally, between August 3rd and 10th, players can receive a Nihon Hanzo icon, spray, and epic skin.

Overwatch is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.
