Pokémon GO's Ultra Unlock Event Starts Later This Week

A new Pokémon GO event starts this week. 

Players were able to complete all of the challenges in the Global Challenge Arena during Pokémon GO Fest 2021. As a reward for completing the challenges, Pokémon GO developer Niantic has announced the Ultra Unlock event. The event will be split into three parts, with the first, entitled Ultra Unlock Part 1: Time, beginning on July 23rd. This portion of the event will run until August 3rd. During this time, Dialga will appear in five-star raids, with there being a chance of running into a Shiny one. Magneton, Aerodactyl, Porygon2, and Golurk will appear in three-star raids, while Unown U, Cranidos, Shieldon, Bronzor, and Klink will appear in one-star raids. There will be a chance to run into a Shiny Unown U. A number of Pokémon will appear more often in the wild, including Voltorb, Porygon, Cranidos, and Shieldon. Players may encounter Shiny Cranidos and Shiledon. Gamers may hatch Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, and Shieldon from 7 km Eggs. Finally, there will be Timed Research that will lead to encounters with event-themed Pokémon. 

Ultra Unlock Part 2: Space will begin on will begin on August 6th, and will run through August 20th. During this portion of the event, Palkia will appear in five-star raids with there being a chance of running into a Shiny one. Alakazam, Kangaskhan, and Heracross will appear in three-star raids, with Shiny Kangaskhan and Heracross appearing to lucky players. Unown U, West Sea and East Sea Shellos, Elgyem, and Espurr will appear in one-star raids, with there being a chance of running into a Shiny Unown U. Pokémon such as Clefairy, Munna, Elgyem, and more will appear in the wild more often. West Sea and East Sea Shellos, Red-Stripped and Blue-Stripped Basculin, Heatmor, and Durant will hatch from 7 km Eggs. Gamers can complete Timed Research in order to earn encounters with certain event-themed Pokémon. 

The final part of the Ultra Unlock event will begin on August 20th. It will end on August 31st. No information was given on this portion of the event. Niantic did state to stay tuned for the more  information.
