A special event is coming to Rainbow Six Siege that will tie-in to the next Rainbow Six title.

Rainbow Six Siege will soon begin a tie-in event with Rainbow Six Extraction (via Polygon). The event will be called Containment, and it will be a PvP event. The event will begin on August 3rd, and will last until the 24th. Containment will be played on a revamped version of the Consulate map. The building has been overrun by the Chimera parasite that will be featured in Extraction. The event will feature 33 unique items, including uniforms and weapon skins. The items will be available in Siege's shop to purchase for 1,680 R6 credits. They can also be found in Containment Packs, which will run gamers 300 R6 credits, or 12,500 renown.

Containment will feature a new playlist called Nest Destruction. Gamers will be able to play as members of REACT, the team that they will play as in Extraction. In Nest Destruction, the Attackers will be REACT agents, while the Defenders will play as alien shapeshifters that look like REACT teammates. However, Defenders will only be able to use melee attacks. It is the Attacker's mission to destroy the nest, while Defenders must take out the Attackers.

Rainbow Six Extraction was meant to release sometime this year. However, the game was delayed into next year last month. According to Ubisoft, the delay will allow the team working on Extraction to take time to bring their vision to life in the way that it deserves. It was stated that more information about Extraction will be shared soon.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Rainbow Six Extraction will release in January 2022, and will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
