Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will support Smart Delivery.
On Twitter, it was announced that Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will support Smart Delivery when it releases. This means that those who purchase the game on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions for free. Developer Koei Tecmo stated in the tweet that they will share more information soon.
It was announced last month that Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will release in October. It was revealed that there will be a Digital Deluxe version of the game. This version comes with a digital artbook and six costumes for the game's protagonists. Yuri will receive two costumes, Miu will receive three, and Ren will only get one. For those who do not purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, all of the costumes will be available to purchase on their own. It has also been announced that all players will be able to obtain a special Atelier Ryza costume. The costume will be available for anyone who picks up the game for up to two weeks after it releases.
The upcoming remaster for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was revealed earlier this summer. The game originally released exclusively for the Wii U in 2014. The remaster of the title will feature updated visuals and a brand new photo mode. Similar to previous Fatal Frame titles, players will be equipped with the Camera Obscura, a special camera that allows players to ward off and capture spirits. The camera also allows gamers to experience supernatural occurrences. It is also the only line of defense that players will have as they make their way through a world haunted by hostile spirits.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch on October 28th.
