With Saints Row set to release on August 23rd, we now have the Saints Row review embargo details to share with you, and you won't be waiting long!

The review embargo for Saints Row is set for August 22nd at 7:00 a.m. PST. Head over to the Saints Row game page after that time for all of the latest reviews!

Saints Row is an all-new game that is intended to be a reboot of the franchise. With plans to tone down the humor and craziness of later titles and focus on the gang warfare, the developers are hoping to return to the series' roots. According to listing pages, Saints Row will be "the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created."

Saints Row takes place in Santo Ileso, where you'll form The Saints to take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall Defense Industries as you build an empire in the city. You'll build up the Saints as a brand new gang, with a cast of characters that will be central to your story. Saints Row includes a deep character creator for the central "Boss" character, and will include drop-in cooperative multiplayer with a second player, with each player having their own character while still progressing their own missions.

A number of outlets have released Saints Row previews ahead of launch, which you can read below:

Final Previews:

  • IGN - "On the whole, Saints Row is shaping up to be an action-packed mix of satire and slapstick mayhem, which—for me, at least—sounds like a great recipe for some much-needed destructive escapism."
  • PCGamesN - "After almost a decade since the last entry, a fresh coat of paint can be all that you need to remind you why you fell in love with something in the first place. So far, as a long-time fan of the series, I’m along for the ride."
  • GamesRadar - "The Saints Row reboot is updating its values while still refusing to take itself too seriously. Admittedly, this creates a few pain points, but not enough to make my hands-on time with Saints Row any less enjoyable."
  • NME - "After four hours with the forthcoming crime-’em-up, I found a thoughtful open-world game with interesting combat and a focus on player freedom."

Saints Row releases worldwide on August 23rd, 2022 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
