Terraria Has Officially Outsold The Original Super Mario Bros. By Nearly A Million Copies

Terraria developer Re-Logic has confirmed that the game's sales have now officially passed 58 million copies, meaning that it's finally outsold the original Super Mario Bros. for NES.

Although it doesn't receive quite as much mainstream attention as Minecraft, Terraria still stands as one of the most popular and successful survival crafting games out there. Sure, it can't ever seem to decide if it's on its last update or not, but that hasn't stopped it from being a quiet juggernaut since it released in 2011.

While Terraria has been a big seller for about as long as it's been around, Re-Logic hasn't told us just how well it was doing for a little while now. The last update we had regarding the game's sales numbers was back in 2022, when it was announced that it had sold around 44 million copies. Well, it's only been two years, but it's now far exceeded that number.
