At least one hotly-anticipated blockbuster sequel game isn't making the leap from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that, despite past considerations, his team at Square Enix has elected to stick to the known quantity for the presently-untitled trilogy-ending installment. Given all those scattered horror stories regarding UE5 - which isn't to say it's the norm, but it's hard not to notice when issues do crop up - this might be welcome news for fans.
Hamaguchi recently revealed that Queen's Blood, that most spectacular of in-game card games from FF7 Rebirth, will be included in the finale. But what about the big classic-FF7 minigames that haven't yet appeared? I can think of three... and at least one of them is in.
If we look back at the biggest minigames from 1997's Final Fantasy 7, we've already hit upon plenty of them, partly in Remake, and mostly in Rebirth.
