Koei Tecmo's upcoming Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered has been hit with a major delay, pushed back from its previous March release date. The hack-and-slash franchise, set in the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history, has become a staple of Koei Tecmo and Omega Force's library, with a multitude of games across several major platforms. Dynasty Warriors has seen ten main-series games, with most games receiving both an Empires and Xtreme Legends enhanced version. However, Koei Tecmo's next entry in the franchise looks to bring fans back to a classic game in the series.

Dynasty Warriors 3 marked plenty of firsts for the franchise following its launch in late 2001. It was the first game in the series to incorporate multiplayer gameplay, as well as the first to receive its own enhanced version with Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends. Koei Tecmo revealed in September 2025 that it was working on a fully remastered version of Dynasty Warriors 3 to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary, set to launch in March 2026. Now, fans eager for the Dynasty Warriors remaster may have to wait a fair bit longer.
