In Two Years Time, Highguard Could Have A Single-Player Mode

A little over a month after its initial and highly criticized reveal at The Game Awards and subsequent weeks of silence, free-to-play live-service shooter Highguard is officially out, assuming that you can queue up for it.

Despite its glaring silence, its developers, Wildlight Entertainment, have some high plans for the future of the game, including outlines for an entire year's worth of content via a recently-released post-launch roadmap.

Those aspirations for the game's future don't end there, as the team eventually hopes that a single-player experience can make its way, too. In an interview with TheGamer's Allyson Cochran, Wildlight co-founders Dusty Welch and Chad Grenier spoke about a future that could see the multiplayer experience grow beyond its live-service status.

"I hope we have the opportunity to continue telling a story in the game, continue adding new ways to play the game, expanding the modes and mechanics and all the things that are there," Grenier said. "And selfishly, we crave a single-player experience someday."
