Highguard Is Trying To Distance Itself From Apex And Titanfall, And No One Knows Why

Highguard is finally here, and to say that the game's launch was a bit of a wet fart would be an understatement. Things started out promising, as the game launched with almost 100,000 players on Steam, but a bombardment of negative reviews and a slew of launch problems has made the game's player base tank to around a tenth of that.

To be fair to Highguard, it was pretty surprising that the game managed to drag in 100,000 players, given that the game's sole advertiser was Geoff Keighley. One of the biggest draws of the game was that it's been made by people involved in the creation of Apex Legends and Titanfall, and Highguard has been pretty open about that fact, using it to advertise the game on its Steam page.

However, now that the game has been released, Highguard appears to be a bit less keen on letting people know it has links to Apex and Titanfall, as the mentions of both games have been scrubbed from its Steam page.

First noticed by Kotaku, Highguard's Steam description appears to have been altered since the game's launch. Before launch, Highguard's Steam description read:
