The Witcher’s Most Underrated Single-Player RPG Is Back In A Big Way

While The Witcher 4 is in active development and a Witcher-themed Reigns game has been announced, it is also a momentous occasion for the franchise because Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is back on mobile devices (iOS and Android). Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales was previously unplayable due to a connectivity bug that occurred roughly a year ago, and the game was removed from mobile device stores as a result.

Thankfully, this severe issue finally seems to have been remedied, as was announced in The Witcher’s Twitter/X post. It was still available on PC and consoles, though it’s incredibly exciting to have The Witcher’s single-player Gwent-centered RPG back on mobile devices, and it’ll be interesting to see if this effort translates into any future Thronebreaker content.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a phenomenal RPG that blends isometric exploration, base-building and deck-building, paramount dialogue choices, and Gwent card battles. Of course, if players aren’t terribly fond of The Witcher 3’s Gwent minigame, despite it playing fairly differently in Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, they may not be particularly enthusiastic about how it encompasses about 80% of gameplay.
