Yesterday, Capcom released a live-action promotional video for Resident Evil Requiem featuring Maika Monroe. The short film, entitled Evil Has Always Had A Name, features a mother and her daughter caught up in the Raccoon City Incident — the in-universe event that underpins much of the series.
The Raccoon City Incident is the backdrop to Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 - with the latter game introducing the character Nemesis, a mutated creature that stalks the game's protagonist Jill Valentine throughout her harrowing journey to escape the infected city.
During the promotional video for Requiem, we can actually see Nemesis in the background for a split second. At around 1.33 in the video, we can see the Raccoon Police Department (RPD) advancing towards a cloud of smoke as Monroe's character looks for a way to flee the carnage.
In the background, just behind the police car, we can see a silhouette of Nemesis walking through the smoke. The character is easily recognised because of his massive size and unique gait.
If you listen closely, right before the police car explodes, you can hear Nemesis' signature "Stars..." faintly in the background. Thankfully, our hero isn't Jill Valentine...
