Marvel Rivals has confirmed that an in-game event, as well as a 6v6 tournament, will be part of the game's closed beta test later this month. The beta is set to begin on July 23 and will run until August 5. Interested fans on console have been instructed to complete a questionnaire for the chance to be picked to enter the beta, while PC gamers must request access via the Marvel Rivals Steam page.
A new 6v6 Overwatch-inspired hero shooter, Marvel Rivals features third-person gameplay and offers a wide array of popular and beloved Marvel heroes and villains. From some of Marvel's most iconic characters, like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Hulk, to some of its more niche additions such as Namor, Luna Snow, and Peni Parker, Marvel Rivals pulls from almost every corner of the Marvel universe. So far, Marvel Rivals is confirmed to house three game modes: Convoy, Domination, and Convergence. Convoy is essentially a payload mode similar to that of Overwatch's Escort mode, while Convergence mimics Call of Duty's Hardpoint. Domination is a classic mode where teams fight over control of three capture points.
