There were a lot of great indie games that came out in 2023, like Cocoon, Dredge, and Pizza Tower, but one of the best was the horror visual novel Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo. It was such a hit with us at TheGamer, that it ranked fifth on our GOTY list for the year, above the likes of Hi-Fi Rush and Final Fantasy 16.
Now, we're getting a sequel called Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse, which will bring another spooky tale to our Nintendo Switch 2 consoles on February 19, in just two weeks time.
This time around, Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse centers around a small island called Kameshima within Ise Bay with a pretty nasty reputation for mermaids, and has you playing as a series of characters. One of these characters is a diver called Yuza Minakuchi who finds a pretty messed-up version of himself at the bottom of the ocean on a pearl diving expedition.
