Bungie Will Consider Opening Up Marathon's Cryo Archive To Non-Weekend Players

Marathon's first end-game style activity, the raid-like Cryo Archive, debuted over the weekend and was relatively well received by the player base. However, players were quick to point out aspects of the raid that weren't popular, including the controversial decision to make Cryo Archive only available on the weekend.

In response, Marathon director Joe Ziegler published a statement announcing that Bungie has heard the negative feedback and is working to address player complaints.

"Congratulations to all the runners who have been battling it out on the floating death fridge we call Cryo Archive! We've been watching and ingesting all the thoughts and feedback that we're hearing, aggregating it and taking it down in notes," Ziegler writes. "After this weekend, we'll spend some time looking into feedback and thinking of the next iterations we want to make."

Ziegler identifies three sources of strife from the community: scheduling, solo play and subroutines. The first addresses complaints that you can only play at the weekend, the second that you need a full team of three to participate and the third concerns the drop rate of subroutines.
