With the recent release of Shadow of the Erdree, the Elden Ring community has been frenzied into a series of debates.
With a world this open, it can be hard to know where to go next.
They've discussed the most evil Demigod in the game, debated the weakest boss weapons, and now are arguing about what is the worst gimmick to have been added to the otherwise fantastic DLC.
A post on Reddit has gained serious traction, which has caused the over-analyzation of the new gimmicks in Elden Ring's DLC. Titled "The dumbest 'gimmick' of the DLC/ER," one player shared their hatred for the game's sealed spiritsprings.
Usually open for players to reach otherwise impossible locations with Torrent, these sealed spiritsprings are locked, with players needing to find an accompanying rock pile to unlock it.
Agreeing with the OP, one player said they "didn't understand that concept," with another adding they were "just super unnecessary".
While many agreed with the opinion that these springs are a pain, others very much didn't. "It's so inoffensive I don't see the problem", preached one commenter, with another saying, "Nah, this gimmick was fine. Adding a little extra exploration wasn’t a bad thing"....
