The Borderlands series occupies that nebulous state between being a single-player game and being a live-service game, with an endgame that's regularly grinded by dedicated players à la Diablo.

This means that Gearbox is expected to regularly provide additional content and balance patches for the game in order to keep the experience fresh for players who play regularly.

While Gearbox has released minor balance patches for Borderlands 4, a section of the community remains unhappy with the level of support the studio is providing for the newest game in its flagship series.

In a recent Reddit thread, community members posted their criticisms about the endgame balance of Borderlands 4, a game where only a handful of builds are effective towards the end of the game.

"Gearbox promised bug fixes and endgame balance updates in Q1, so where are they?" asks the original poster, before predicting the promised updates "won't" be delivered because "some of this stuff is so big and cannot be hard to fix if they actually wanted to fix it."
