Kliff might be a boring protagonist, but he's still better than Crimson Desert's other two options — Oongka and Damiane. While each of them freshen up the gameplay with their own unique fighting styles, they crucially lack the necessary abilities for Pywel, rendering them useless for open-world exploration. However, today's update changes that.
Patch 1.03.00 aims to make the pair more viable by giving them each the Axiom Force, Nature's Snare, and other related abilities. It also improves Damiane's Shield Toss and Oongka's Scatter Shot to have the same effect as Kliff's Force Palm, and alters the control input for Skystep and Vertical Flight.
Pearl Abyss has also addressed an issue where the game would crash when using the Helm of Knowledge as Damiane or Oongka.
It's a much-needed improvement to the pair's gameplay, but there's still a lot of work to be done if Pearl Abyss wants to win the Oongka haters over. One of the most common complaints players have is the abrupt introduction, as you're thrown into a boss fight right with little time to get used to how he handles.
