Coming hot off the heels of the hit Happy Meal and Sanrio collaboration this July, McDonald’s is set to release a Super Mario toy line. However, there’s a catch: It’s only available in Japan. These are the first Super Mario Happy Meal toys in almost two years.
The last time there was a Super Mario collaboration with McDonald's was during the winter holiday season of 2022 to promote the Super Mario Bros. Movie. The Super Mario Bros Movie toys were available in 23 countries, unlike the new line. The soon-to-be-released Happy Meal collaboration promotes Universal Studio Japan’s most recent expansion and upcoming attractions centered around the Super Mario franchise, making this a unique collectible for theme park enthusiasts and gamers alike.
