Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's sales figures have been updated to mark the one-year anniversary. Now, we know that the award-winning RPG has sold more than eight million copies within the space of a year.
This is despite the game also being available on Xbox Game Pass from launch day, in which it was the most downloaded third-party game on the service. It comes after a strong launch saw it shift half a million copies in just one day, making it clear that first-time developer Sandfall had a hit on its hands.
"To date, Expedition 33 has sold over 8 million units globally," reads an update from the team. "Additionally, the game’s award-winning original soundtrack has been streamed digitally over 617 million times since release (or 645 million times including the ‘Nos vies en Lumière’ and ‘Verso’s Drafts’ soundtracks), as well as securing multiple extraordinary chart positions, including six #1 Spots in the Official Album Charts (UK), #2 in French and German Album Charts, six Top 5 spots in the Billboard Album Charts (USA), and more."
Not bad going at all for a new IP from a studio that no one really had their eyes...
