Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Was Due On The Original Switch, But It Would Have Been "A Negative Experience"

In late March, the award-winning PS5 launch window title Kena: Bridge of Spirits made its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. It came as the exclusivity window for the title, which was part-funded by Sony, had passed.

The Nintendo Switch 2 wasn't the Ember Lab team's first choice, though, as the company's COO, Josh Grier, revealed in a recent chat with us here at TheGamer that they had hoped to bring Kena to the original Switch, but it would have been "a negative experience."

It's evident just how much more powerful the Nintendo Switch 2 is compared to its predecessor. Games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Pragmata, and Resident Evil Requiem run buttery smooth on the platform. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is also on that list, but Ember Lab had ambitions for it to launch on Nintendo's prior console.
