Resident Evil Requiem Datamine Reveals Cut Merchant, Side Missions, And Investigation Mechanic

Resident Evil Requiem dataminers have uncovered a bunch of mechanics and features that were cut from the game, including a merchant, side missions, and an investigation mechanic.

Without a doubt, Resident Evil Requiem has one of the most interesting development cycles of any game in the series. Originally starting out as a co-op game starring Leon and Jill, Capcom eventually decided to refocus on the horror and single-player elements, giving us the version of Requiem that we all know and love.

Even after that big change in direction, though, Requiem still went through a lot of changes. Just last week, we found out that a whole "phantom" chapter was cut from the game during development, but it turns out that's far from the only thing, as dataminers have uncovered a bunch of mechanics and features in the game's files that ended up being removed.

Over on Twitter, reliable Resident Evil insider AestheticGamer1 shared a tweet from Twitter account umesooooo, who dug into Requiem's files and managed to find some rather interesting tidbits. The screenshots show several interesting features and mechanics that were cut from the game at some point, starting with a merchant figure of some kind....
